Hi Ladies and Friends,
My personal journey about how I came to Curves and how it has shaped and defined my life is not new to many. So, if I have not shared it with you, here goes:

During my younger years, I shifted from one fad diet to another, going up, going down, to total hundreds of pounds. After my second pregnancy I gave up on weight loss.

Dear Curves Members,
I really feel that Curves is the best exercise facility for women. I’ve tried other gyms but it just took too much time driving to the facility, waiting for a machine to become available and then needing to adjust each piece of equipment before I could use it. It wasn’t for me, it took too much time and it was boring.

If you know me at all, you know that I’m an enthusiastic supporter of Curves and a high energy person. Do you also know that I have a chronic condition that sucks up my energy every single day? It’s Type 1 Diabetes. At age 21, my autoimmune system malfunctioned and destroyed the cells in my pancreas that produce insulin.

On my 45th birthday I walked into my local Curves and began a transformation that I never anticipated. My weight had been creeping up a bit each year and I found that my knees hurt too much to keep running. I had never really liked running anyway and it was becoming harder and harder to get myself to go out and do it.

Health and fitness has always played a major role in my life. I was a dancer and a baton twirler from a very early age all the way through college. I also taught baton and dance for over ten years. Exercise was a huge part of my life!

Exercise became even more important to me after I developed a serious illness when I was 21 years old.
